4 hidden features in Google Chat that will make communicating easier!

Google Chat has just got released to replace Hangouts. Like so many new services added to G Suite, there are lots of in-your-face features, you spot and pick up immediately. Other smaller elements that can be killer time savers can get missed. 

The four features mentioned below can easily be accessed by hovering over a comment in Chat. 

Here are four feature in Google Chat you might have missed:

Add emoji reactions to individual comments; now, when you hover over a comment in a Google Chat, you can add emoji reactions. Perfect for adding some emotion to comment, or simply to acknowledge a message. 

Send a comment to your inbox lets you quickly and easily have any comment in Google Chat send to your Gmail inbox. Perfect for when someone had left a detailed explanation that you know you'll need to refer back to in the future.

Edit your comment allows you to alter your comments, perfect for correcting typos or adding detail. Previously in Hangouts, you were unable to edit your comment. 

Delete your comment as you'd expect enables you to remove comments, ideally, if you accidentally, post something that was stored on your clipboard, or you have posted into the wrong Chat Room.

Bonus, in the image we have been using, you'll have seen the words "following". If you click the word “following” you can "unfollow" a thread in a chat room to stop receiving notifications for any future comments added to that thread.
