FAQs about Kimbley IT and services.

  • Who are Kimbley IT?

We're a friendly IT support provider proudly based in Birmingham in the UK, although our team has been fully remote for over a decade. Businesses that partner with us for IT support range from start-ups to scale-ups and established small—to medium-sized businesses, typically employing between 1 and 100 team members. The overall goal of Kimbley IT is to let our clients have fun while getting their work done with reliable, secure and fantastic IT.

  • How much does IT support cost?

IT support from Kimbley IT costs £100 per team member per month—not a penny more! Everything you need for superb IT is included in the package. The service has evolved over the years and offers the complete solution for most start-ups, scale-ups, and established small—to medium-sized businesses. With us, you always know how your money gets used to give you everything your company needs for excellent IT.

  • Do you provide ad-hoc services?

As a Managed Services Provider (MSP), Kimbley IT does not offer ad hoc or project work for non-clients. Our clients partner with us for the long term, and it would be unfair to them if we got distracted by providing ad hoc or project work services to businesses that don't have a partnership with us. It also turns out that one-off IT support costs your business a lot more overall. Click to find out why this is.

  • What's included in the IT support package?

You receive a comprehensive IT support package designed for businesses with 1 to 100 team members. This package aims to offer "trouble-free computing" by including unlimited IT support, regular backups, security monitoring, and enhanced productivity and collaboration tools through Google Workspace. The goal is to enable teams to work more efficiently and enjoyably.

  • What's your specialism?

You'll discover our expertise in Google Workspace, a service we have been supporting and assisting businesses with for nearly 20 years! If your business uses Google Workspace and is not taking advantage of all its amazing productivity tools and features, you need to get in touch! Recently, with the influx of AI technologies, we have been guiding our clients on using AI, such as Gemini and NotebookLM (it is incredible!)

  • How good are you with AI?

It sounds big-headed, but we are the best IT support provider for guiding our clients on how to use AI. We regularly build premium prompts for our clients to save time and money, along with the regular video guides we publish on our YouTube channel. The ability to improve your business with AI never ends when you partner with Kimbley IT.

  • How long do service agreements last?

After a three-month evaluation trial, your agreement will automatically renew for 12 months and will continue until you inform us that you do not wish to renew. While 12 months is the minimum renewal term, you have the option to extend the renewal period for up to 60 months. The longer the renewal term you select, the lower the cost per team member will be.

  • Are their any onboarding cost?

Absolutely none! What kind of welcoming gift would that be? If you're looking for a long-term relationship with your IT provider, we want the same with you. Why introduce unnecessary friction just to make a little more money? We don’t agree with IT companies that charge an onboarding fee. You want to work with us and we want to work with you.

  • Are backups part of the IT support package?

Everything you need for reliable, secure, and safe IT is included in the package, with backup services as a key component. All your data is copied up to three times a day, so if you need to recover any files, it only takes a few minutes. While many people associate backups with hackers, we find that backups are more often used to restore accidentally deleted files.

  • How does Kimbley IT help businesses keep their data secure and stay compliant?

Businesses today face the challenge of cyberattacks, and we’re here to help keep your data as secure as possible. Through a mix of software and hardware security measures and educating your team about potential threats, we can make your company a pain to attack, forcing hackers to move on to an easier target. You'll be guided on the best ways to keep your data organised, how to achieve Cyber Essentials, and GDPR compliance, which are all included in the service.

  • What about printers?

Everyone hates printers; they break for no reason and always at the most inconvenient time possible. To prevent you from experiencing this, we help our clients become paperless operations. Of course, if you have to use a printer while we don't support them, we will help as much as possible. Hopefully, they will go the way of the fax machine 🤞

  • Do you manage the onboarding and offboarding of team members?

Yes, when you have someone new start at the company, they will be set up on your systems with just the right amount of access they need to perform their role. When the time comes, we will also offboard your team members, ensuring their accounts are secured, data transferred, and emails forwarded. It is one of the many features you get when you partner with us for IT support and assistance.

  • Do you support legacy applications?

Yes, we can support legacy applications that do not have native cloud or online versions. We can shift them to Google Cloud, and you can access these programs through Google Chrome. As more applications are updated to web services, we find most clients don't need this service, and due to its very specific nature, it is an add-on service and not part of the main IT support package.
