In 2018 Google introduced the option to use a security key to secure your Google Account instead of text or app-based codes as part of their advanced protection programme. Since the introduction of the security key, not one Google account has ever been takeover by phishing.
This key also supports NFC, which means you can use it to authenticate access to your Google account from your mobile phone; all you need to do is tap the key on the back of your phone!
