See who has viewed your Google Doc, Sheet or Slide.
Note: The location of the Activity Dashboard has moved since this video was created. It is now under the menu Tools > Activity Dashboard.
You've created a Google Doc and shared it with your team for feedback. It would be useful to see who on your team has viewed the document. With Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, you can see who has accessed your file, and the instructions below will guide you on how to find this useful tool.
There are three main caveats to seeing who has viewed your file. You must be using a Google Workspace business edition; your file must be a Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide; and the viewer must be signed in with a Google account.
Here is how you can check to see who has viewed your file.
Open your Google Doc, Sheet or Slide file.
In the Tools menu, select Activity Dashboard.
The window that appears will show you who and when they viewed your file.
You'll also get an option to email a reminder if someone has forgotten to view the file.
You should never share documents using email attachments; sharing documents through a service like Google Drive by Kimbley IT is much easier (especially for larger files); it is also more secure and retains your ownership of the file. So, book a video call below, and we can guide you through a better way to manage all your company's files.
