The Founder’s Log Podcast - April 2025 Recap
In April, we announced to clients that there would be a slight price increase to cover the cost of Google increasing Google Workspace licences with the addition of Gemini. This increase amounted to £4 extra per month. Unlike other IT support providers, we included all the licences that your company will need in our advertised price. Most IT support companies advertise a lowball price, and when you contact them, you find out that the advertised price does not include any licences, and these must be added on top. At Kimbley IT, you can read our blog post that breaks down exactly what you pay us and how this money is distributed to provide the service you get, so you have full, transparent pricing - something no other company in the industry does.
We had the sad news from one of our clients that a team member had died; it was the first time we had someone whom we assisted and supported with their IT die. The business owner and teammates at that business were dealing with the shock - but the bad guys never stop, so as soon as we were made aware of the news, we jumped into action to secure the online accounts this team member had been using to make sure no one could access these accounts until a time when a closing down process could be initiated. Overall, we have a great family of clients who don't require us to ask for consent before we take action; they trust Kimbley IT to do the best for them, and we do.
I went on holiday to Malta, and while I was there, Google rolled out a Gemini Live update that allowed you to use your phone's camera to show Gemini a feed of what you are looking at in real-time, ask questions, and get answers. This worked so well that there really is no need to have a tour guide or an audio guide when you visit landmarks anymore; whip out Gemini on your phone and ask away!

Assistance and Support Statistics
Subscribers contacted us 131 times. Of those, 108 contacted us to request assistance (they want to know how to do something better). In comparison, 23 asked for support (something that needs looking at).
In the statistics reported below, a "complete interaction" is when a subscriber gets in contact and when they can return to work.
Of those who sent a message for assistance asking how to do something better, 82 received a complete interaction that lasted less than five minutes, and they are now able to do something better than they could before. Twenty-six received a complete interaction that lasted five to thirty minutes to complete.
Of the subscribers sending a message for support, 9 received a complete interaction and returned to their work within five minutes. Eleven received a complete interaction and returned to their work within thirty minutes, while two took over thirty minutes but was less than an hour, and one took over an hour.
One hundred and twenty-one subscribers contacted us through our unique instant messaging service, the quickest way to contact; the rest opted for slower communication methods.
The stats show that twenty-seven subscribers would not have gotten in contact if the companies they worked for had offered regular training through Learning Sessions by Kimbley IT.
